The man was there for jury duty. They asked him to take his hat off as he went through the courthouse checkpoint. He had already cleared the metal detector, so there was no “weapons” in his hat. They bullied him and told him that he would not be allowed into the courthouse with his hat on. There is no rule that says you can’t wear a hat in the courthouse, only inside courtrooms.
After they told him he had to leave he grabbed his things out of the basket and started walking to the front door, the two deputies were right on his heels, literally and stepped on his show knocking it off. When he bent down to put it back on, they tackled him and arrested him.
